My artwork looks like a name ring. I thought it was cool to do this because all my sisters have one of these and it means a lot to me. We got these at the arts and crafts from little falls. My work is titled "Name Ring". I think my name really pops out on it, I colored the ring gray and did the name like a gray blue color. I also think my background makes the ring pop out a lot more. I created this by first thinking what meant a lot to me. First I was going to do a necklace my parents gave me, but did not really know how I was going to draw it or where to start because there is a lot to it. So then I did my ring. It was not the easiest to draw because I could not get the curve right. I drew the oval 5 times and then got it. Drawing this I felt calm because I knew what I was doing and felt good drawing it. My sister is the one that told me to draw this because she thought it would look cool. Yes this piece helped me with my goal. I just wanted to try something a little easier for the first time and get harder as I went on. This is not my best artwork I have done, but I am happy with it. It looks better than I thought it would.

Wayne Thiebaud makes many sketches of his artwork before doing his actual art so he knows what he wants to add or erase. This helps him figure out how to make the drawing interesting and have compositions. This is called Thinking Drawing. The right tie is different from others because it has a lot more going on then the others. In the other ties the lines are going at an angle or they are not straight. The one to the right there are a lot of small lines with different colors and they are all over the place. I think he did this so we do not just look at one of the ties, but all of them. His Sketches are very close to his final art drawing like the details and everything included. He uses trial and error and writes notes to himself in his sketchbook. He tired something and if it fails he does it over or tries something new. He balances colors and patterns.
I have been working on starting my first project, which is picking an object that is important to you and drawing it. I was first going to draw a rock with my name on it but then I wanted to do something a little more so now I am drawing my name ring that I wear everyday. All my sisters have them too. I am observing the ring and trying to decide what angle I want to look at the ring. I am having problems with not knowing what angle I want to draw it at. so I am working with engage and Persist right now. I am thinking about using colored pencil for this drawing.
This week I have been working on observing, Colored pencils and drawing pencils. I have been working on the little drawings. I did not know there was so many different kinds of pencils to draw with. I found it a little hard to concentrate when I am just drawing, but that is something I have to work on. On the overdavtionakl drawings I also did not realize on a lego that on the top it says lego on it. I thought that was cool. My little drawings I have been doing are getting better, but could use some work.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZrcj6kq0TE I am not a very good artists today, but at the end of the semester I hope to be a little bit better and feel more comfortable with drawing. I do not like to draw, but hoping this will help me. My goal this semester is to just practice on my drawing and not worry about anybody else's or if there's is better than mine. I would also like to work with oil pastels. My risks this year is to just go for things and try new things out. If it works out or not. I hope to learn how to use different supplies correctly
