Standard EvidenceMy artwork is original because it is about me and all the things I like. This artwork connects to me because it is all about the things. All the thing I draw represent me and what I like. I drew a family tree because I love my family. I drew a cross because my faith means a lot to me. I am always thinking about family or talking to my family. It shows all the important things to me in my life. I love camping so I put a tent a fire and stars. I love to sleep so I put a cloud sleeping. I play tennis so I drew a tennis racket. I love the sun and summer. If you would look at this artwork you would get a good sense of my personality. Artists statementMy artwork is about all the things I love. It is a drawing of my head to show what I look like then around my head is all the things I love. I made my artwork by first drawing my head of what I look like and then all the way around me I came up with ideas of things I like. The big idea is getting to know more about myself and for other people to know me better. The thing that inspired me was I could do two things at once not just draw myself, but also the thing I like so people can know me better. My goal for this was to create an artwork about me and express what I like. I am very happy with how it turned out. I honestly did not think I would have been able to draw me so I am happy with it. I used the self portrait one. I am naming it "Self Portrait with Family Tree and and a Cross.

My goal for this drawing was to just listen to music and draw whatever came to my mind. One thing I liked was that I did not have to think about what to draw. There is not really directions besides what comes to my mind. I also like how free it was and very stress relieving. One thing challenging was sitting for twenty minutes with no distractions. It was kinda hard to keep drawing and not stop to think about what to draw next. I really enjoyed this as I got into it.
My first artists is Jake Allee. His work consists of vocabulary of form techniques and textures that he arranges himself to give him endless array of possibilities. He likes to give is art work a focus. Also is work is a record of where he is at the time and an expression of living life as an adventure. It does not say where he is from or what glazes he uses. I like him because I can see every little detail in his art and I think that is cool. There also very different from anything else. I My second artists is Lisa Belsky. She is living and working in Columbus. Her artwork explores the interaction between fiber and clay using hand knit crocheted cotton dipped in porcelain slip. Knitting and crocheting has been in her family for generations. I like her art because I think it is cool how much she can do with knitting. I honestly did not know that you could do something like this. I thought you could only knit blankets and mittens.
I finished by slab box. I had some difficulties with that. My cover broke and I was going to super glue it together, but I decided not to. It looks good the way it turned out. I also worked on and finished by coil pot. I am super glad with how that turned out. I took my time on it and I had no problems. As of now I am working on my relief tile. I am happy on how it is turning out. I just have to add an m and then I can put it in the kiln.
I have been working on finishing my slab box and glazing my pinch pots and sphere. For my slab box I had to make a handle which was fun. I wish it would have looked better than it did, but I learned from it and now I know how to make it better. For my pinch pots I am glazing them. I am excited how they are turning out so far besides the one of them, I put the wrong glaze on a part of the bowl. I had to wash the glaze off and start over, but I learned that some part of the glaze does not need to be on the whole pot/bowl.
The things i have done are are 3 pinch pots that each are a little different. I just have to glaze those and I also have a sphere done that has to be fired and then glazed. I also made a stamp of my initials that I messed up on and had to redo 3 times, but now I know how to do it and can do it by myself. As of now I am working on a slab box. It is kinda messy right now but I am getting the hang of how to do it. If something else fails I will keep on trying until I get it right.
I want to know more about working with clay. I also want to know how to use the ciln properly. I am new to most of this so I want to do it mostly on my own with a little help as I need. I want to maybe struggle a little so I can get it.
