My best artwork this semester was my landscape one. I like this one because I put a lot of time into it and I watched videos on how to draw a couple things like the mountains. I was also super happy how the clouds turned out. I would like to redo my ring outwork. The thing that meant a lot to me. I want to redo it because it was the very first one so I was still learning a lot and I also did not put much time into it. I would have made the ring a little better and would have looked up how to make it so it looks 3D. I have learned to just try your best at everything because you will never know the outcome. In art I wish I would have done a painting with watercolors. These are super fun to play around with and it is super easy. Also you can do so much with watercolors.

For my artwork I did a collage of different things that make up me. Then the background is colorful with different shapes. I created this by first doing a rough sketch in my sketchbook then putting it onto paper. My rough sketch was not quit how I wanted it to turn out, but I got it on my final artwork how I wanted it. The big idea about this is that it is about me. All the pictures I drew are things I like. My goals were to have fun with my final work and to come up with as many things about me as possible. I am happy with how this turned out. I thought that background would look funny with all the colors, but it looks good.
For the final artwork I am planning on doing a college of all the things I like or represent me. I did a self portrait last year so I wanted to do something different this time. I am trying to reflect to my last years one so I can do this one better and have more on it. I made a very rough sketch of how I want it ot look but I am adding more to it. I am also trying to explore different ways how to draw some different things so this is my own artwork.
The winter holiday activity was super fun. I made an ugly sweater. I learned how to actually make a shirt/long sleeve and it's super easy. I think there steps helped me a lot that were in the slideshow. This were a bunch of options to choose from. I like doing these kinds of these where you do not really have guidelines, but rather you just make what you want and design it how you want. I also learned how to make a holly. I would do something like this again if I could. I think my drawing turned out pretty good.
For this college art work I wanted to focus on learning new techniques. I realized I can do art with almost no materials which is super cool. You do not need a lot of material to make a cool artwork. I wanted to do something with my name in the middle and then different things around it. I used sticky letters for my name and then 1 popsicle stick and cut it in 3 parts. I explored with lots of material that I had at home and was creative with what I had. I also used envision because I knew what I wanted to make just did not know how to put it onto paper.
My artwork is a landscape, with a road in the middle then each side of the road there is a field, with trees and bushes in the field. Then in the far there is mountains. I created this by first doing a sketch in my sketchbook then with pencil I drew it lightly on my canvas I used. I had to erase a lot of pencil when I stated, but that is part of doing art. The big idea is to just go outside and enjoy the weather. I love to be outside and look at landscape. My goals for this was to create a piece of work I am proud of. I also wanted to have fun with this and experiment. I am happy with how my artwork turned out. I did not think my mountains would look good and they do.
For my landscape painting I did mountains in the back, then 2 fields with a road in the middle. I was a little worried on how it was going to turn out because I had to mix some color to get a nice brown, but it turned out super cool and I am happy with it. I learned how to engage and persists myself when I had trouble mixing the paints and getting the right color I wanted. I just had to add a little white to make it lighter. I also used developed and craft because I forgot how to use a fan brush so I looked up a video for that. They are super easy and cool to use. I am done with this artwork and I am glad on how it turned out.
For my landscape project I know what I want to do and I am ready for start. I am going off of a picture from one of the videos I watched just adding in my own things. I want to do hills with a river in the middle then from far have a little barn with some animals like a dog or a deer.
During the painting boot camp I worked on the color wheel and brush stokes. The color wheel was hard to do, because I could not get the colors all right. It made me frustrated because I like things to be done right and get them done right away. THe brush strokes were alright. I did not know there was so many. Fading the colors was also hard.
Dan Bruggeman's art is places in nature where humans and environments interact. It's both human and nature because there may be trees in the background or a sunset, but humans can still see that and use it. Like in a field that is nature but also human because we planted whatever was in the field. Many things are nature and man made we just don't think about it like that most days. It has been enhanced, nature is very good and pretty.
